DR. SOCARDA;  a UNTRUTHFUL DENTIST!!----MALPRACTICE!!

First, I would like to say that I've been Dr. Socarda's patient for ~9yrs.  I had totally trusted him. WORST MISTAKE!!!

He had completed some major dental work...such as root-canals/posts, crowns, filings.

~Sep, 2004, I had seen Dr. Socarda in his Sterling Heights office for a minor complaint of swollen-gum/ pus-pocket around  the molar (#19); he had completed work on.      I can vividly recall him taking x-rays of both crowns he had worked on months ago(tooth #19, &30) .    After him examining the X-rays....His answer was...'THERE'S NOTHING WRONG, the pus that's around your is molar is due to eating hot food, I'll prescribe you some Penicillin, and you'll be fine'.       His answer seemed a bit foolish, but I trusted him....He was the Doctor.

Make the story short, ~few years passed by, relocated to a different state>>> leading to seeing a new Dentist. After taking full-mouth X-rays, my new Dentist has informed me that the two crowns Dr. Socarda had worked on (#19 & 30) are BOTH infected. In fact, tooth number 19 is completely infected...and it can't be saved.

My jaw literally dropped.....I had called Dr. Socarda right after my new Dentist's visit.        Politely, I've asked Dr. Socarda to provide me w/ a complete copy of medical/ X-rays history.   He was constantly giving me the runarounds, and asking me 'WHY do I need those records'??       After realizing that I'm not getting anywhere, I had contacted my Attorney.      Then Dr. Socarda immediately mailed me my medical history.       But things got even worse!!!     In his medical history notes, there was nothing noted about him prescribing Penicillin, AND he did NOT have/ provided me w/ any X-rays he had taken from my 2004 visit.

Luckily, I looked through my medicine cabinet, and found the prescription(Penicillin) that he had prescribed me. I even called Walgreen's to confirm that it's in their records.

When I confronted him....he said 'I've never prescribed you anything'.  After I had mentioned that I still have the bottle of his prescription, he was EXTREMELY shocked, and changed his story/ answer to ' I must of given you that prescription b/c you had a toothache'.     Bunch of BS!!!!  Doctor's Do NOT prescribe PENICILLIN for toothaches.....UNLESS there's an infection present.   He has no X-rays, OR any history stating that I had any toothaches.    Dr. Socarda clearly FALSIFIED  my medical records.    AFter doing some research, I realized that he chose the cheap route, and not informing me of the infection. Because if he would of told me in 2004, Dr. Socarda would of have had to take off the crown, clean the infected area,  and redo everything.

Unfortunately, Dr. Socarda feels as though he is not responsible for his mistakes/ malpractice. I guess I'll have to leave it up to a Judge to determine that!!!
