My experience:

I would never recommend this doctor. He diagnosed me as ocd and I said I wanted to try talk therapy before trying drugs. I even said I would consider the drugs if talk didn't work. He still refused saying talk never works for ocd. When I still refused the drugs he threatened to force me to take them and started talking about referrals for electroconvulsive therapy (also known as shock therapy). I had never been to a psychiatrist before (or ever tried any talk therapy, drugs, or other therapy) so shock was beyond ridiculous to suggest. I was a teenager at the time and mostly just going through typical teenage stuff (not that he ever asked me much about the case of my problems). I never went back to Dr. Chundu of course and because of my bad experience with him I never went to any other psychiatrist either. In the end maybe it was for the best because I eventually got better on my own and found better ways to cope. If I'd followed his treatment method, I don't know what might have become of me.

ps as with the last post, drug side effects were brushed off when I asked about them.

The following is my opinion, based on my personal experience:

I found Dr. Chundu to be very unhelpful amd waste of time and money. He seemed more interested in writing prescriptions than anything else, and I felt he was either not forthcoming, or perhaps simply not knowledgable, about drug side effects. When I expressed concern about potential side effects, I felt he never really answered my questions and instead sort of patted me on the head and told me the drugs were very safe. I have since found out that there are many well known side effects of the drugs we had discussed, and none of those side effects were ever mentioned to me. To me, such behavor is irresponsible and potentially dangerous.

He also talks down to his patients and doesn't really want to listen to a person's problems before labeling them.

I would strongly recommend you NOT go to this doctor, and I would even more strongly urge you NOT to sent your children or teens to him.
