2007 I went to two of the finest spinal surgeons in the country before seeing Dr. Biscup.  Both of these other doctors wanted to perform a laminectomy and spinal fusion operation because that is the only way that they know of to treat spinal stenosis.  Dr. Robert O. Biscup used micro-surgery to clean out the osteophytes (bone spurs) on the posterior side of L4/L5 and L5/S1 and clean out the bulging discs on the anterior side of those same lumbar sites.  The operation took less than an hour.  I was out of the hospital the next day with at least 90% of the pain gone.  I expect to improve even over that percentage in the weeks to come.  Dr. Biscup is a wonderful surgeon who performed the same operation on six or seven of my friends with the same or better success.  I highly recomment Dr. Biscup for this procedure prior to having the much more serious laminectomy/fusion surgery.

Dorothy,

I would like to know if the address that you stated is Dr. Biscup's current address.  I have also had surgery by Dr. Biscup and I think he is a miracle worker.  I had had two previous surgery's including a fusion.  If only I had found Dr. Biscup before I had any back surgery!!  I had to have the first fusion removed and Dr. Biscup preformed the second fusion.  Prior to his surgery on me I could not stand up straight, the screws where protruding out of my back and I could not walk. Dr. Biscup's surgery not only allowed me to stand I can  walk and do at least a mile a day.  That is a huge deal for me.

My friend attempted to reach Dr. Biscup at Weston, Cleveland Clinic today and was told that he is no longer there.   Since I need to see his for a yearly check-up I am hoping that you can tell me where is he located.

Dr. Biscup is a truly  amazing surgeon.   I could barely walk three years ago with a severe case of lumbar spinal stenosis.  The minimally invasive technique he uses for this type of surgery is unique and world acclaimed. Now, miraculously, I am back in perfect, athletic physical shape at 68.

He has just started his own medical facility, the BISCUP SPINE INSTITUTE in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

2000-2005 Dr. Robert Biscup saved my legs! If it weren't for his amazing surgery, I would be paralized. I thank God everyday for bringing Dr. Biscup into my life.

2006

I have nothing but positive comments about Dr. Biscup, his PA John Booher, his support staff, the hospital and its nurses. Surgery was absolutely successful. I went from someone constantly in pain and almost unable to walk, to pain free almost immediately. After extensive spinal surgery (three lumbar levels), I required only one overnight stay in the hospital, and was even walking the same day I had surgery. A week later I started physical therapy, and have progressed rapidly from there, even starting to play golf within 6 weeks. I have recommended two others who also needed spinal surgery to Dr. Biscup, and they have had almost the same wonderful results I have had.

I was so impressed with the hospital and its staff that both my family and I have started seeing doctors there in other specialties as needed.

The only reason I gave one rating less than 10 was because Dr. Biscup is so much in demand I had to wait over a month before I was able to get an appointment for my first visit. From then on, my expectations were exceeded in all aspects of treatment and follow-up.

He gave me back my life.
