This was like going to a dentist in the third world. I got a bad feeling when I had to sign all manner of papers saying I wouldn't sue the dentist, and the other person in the waiting room was there to complain that he'd been charged for an hour procedure that only took 15 minutes. After debating, then arguing with the staff, he walked out in a huff. I told myself I was only there for a cleaning and no way would I use these people for anything else. The hygienist and x-ray tech spoke very little and didn't seem to know what they were doing. As they fumbled with the x-ray equipment. I was left waiting in silence much of the time, wondering what was taking so long. No one spoke, they weren't particularly friendly. The office walls were peeling paint, and none of the treatment rooms were private -- the place was set up like a big dormitory with dividers but few walls. I had the least thorough teeth cleaning I've ever had, and the hygienist left spit and blood in my mouth instead of using the suction. There were no spit sinks, so I had to go into the restroom to clear my mouth out. When I looked in the mirror I had toothpaste all over my face. The restroom toilet didn't work, of course. The dentist himself seemed okay -- he was at least friendly. But I question his decision to take an extra x-ray of a crown that he said looked suspicious -- the crown is not giving me any trouble. I wonder if this is a place that tries to squeeze money out of people. I noticed that they charge $40 if you miss an appointment, and they wanted to go ahead and make an appointment for me for 6 months from now. Seems to me there's a good chance I might forget an appointment for that far in advance. That wouldn't make me suspicious if the rest of the office seemed on the up and up, but under the circumstances, I wonder....
